ABOUT US

The Break e.V. is a mental health and resilience initiative supporting grassroots actors in the migration context across Europe. Our team brings together 9 years of hands-on experience in grassroots solidarity in Greece, paired with professional mental health expertise. Founded in 2025 by Mimi Hapig (co-founder of Habibi.Works in Greece), The Break e.V. is rooted in compassion, creativity and connection.

OUR MISSION

We sustain those who sustain others: volunteers, activists, and frontline workers responding to humanitarian crises.

Across Europe, grassroots actors supporting displaced people can face criminalization, exhaustion, and trauma. They are essential — yet often left without support.

We offer:

IN PERSON RETREATS

  • Recharge from daily intensity
  • Connect with yourself, joy, purpose, and each other
  • Gain tools to care for your own and your team’s mental health
  • Join forces and build networks with like-minded people

REMOTE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

  • Individual mental health accompaniment
  • Accessible in several languages, wherever you are
  • Run by trained mental health professionals with grassroots experience

YOUR SUPPORT

Your donation helps strengthening those who step up in solidarity for others.  With your help, we can:

  • Offer impactful retreats and counselling
  • Strengthen mental health in grassroots teams
  • Build a stronger, more resilient network of solidarity

In a world shifting toward division, grassroots actors stand for humanity. We fill a critical gap in the humanitarian system: sustaining those who sustain others.
